33 nardin notes Nardin Today Fall 2022 Lorna Fitzpatrick M.D. ‘86 was honored with the Buffalo Business First Excellence in Healthcare award. Lorna is corporate Vice President and Senior Medical director for Univera Healthcare and has spent much of her career in academic and clinical practice, focusing her work on caring for children with brain tumors. Susan Elia MacNeal ‘87 released her novel, Mother Daughter Traitor Spy, on September 20, 2022. Susan is the author of the New York Times-bestselling Maggie Hope mystery series from Penguin Random House. Mother Daughter Traitor Spy is her first stand-alone novel. Nora Eberl Plizga ‘88, CFO of Eberl Iron Works, is pleased to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the family-run company, which began as a small welding shop at 128 Sycamore Street in Buffalo. The family is planning several events next year to celebrate, including honoring the founders, having a mural painted on the building, and establishing a scholarship fund for trade school students. 1990s Jane Mogavero ‘96, who has served as Executive Director of the Patrick P. Lee Foundation since 2016, has been named one of Buffalo Business First’s Power 200 Women of 2022. Kathryn Goehrig Scott ‘97 writes, “My husband Kevin and I have spent the past year traveling the country in our travel trailer. After 25 years of service, Kevin retired from the Buffalo Fire Department in February 2021, and we decided to live our dream. So far, we have seen 12 states and experienced places like Memphis, New Orleans, the Texas Gulf Coast, Seminole Canyon, the Pacific Ocean, and now Death Valley California. While on the road, we've even been able to catch up with some Nardin alums. We have no idea where the wind will take us next; the country is our backyard, and there is so much to see!” Alison Smith ‘99 writes, “I married Curtis Knight on October 16, 2021 at the Country Club of Buffalo. There were many Nardin graduates there along with my nieces, who all attend Nardin.
