47 nardin notes Nardin Today Winter 2020-21 Madeline Weir ’15, E'11 graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a dual major in International Relations and Film Studies. She was in the inaugural 1+4 Program, spending her first university year volunteering and studying in Madrid Spain. Maddie was one of 10 undergrads (of 5600) to receive the prestigious Presidential Award for Civic Life, which is the highest recognition for service, leadership, and civic engagement conferred by Tufts University each year. Ija Peters ’16 is a production assistant on the MTV/VH1 show, Wild ’N Out. MARRIAGES Lorraine Tracy Wright ’03 writes, “I got married at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, New York this year, on 9/11/2020, to Stephen Wright from Massachusetts. We met on St. Patrick's Day 2017 and live together in Waltham, Massachusetts.” Erica Stempniak Hlavaty ‘05 writes, “In March 2019, I was elected Trustee in the Village of Depew for a 4 year term. I also got married to Stephen Hlavaty on October 19, 2019. Members of the Class of 2005 who attended my wedding were: Karen Kepner, Maid of Honor, Caitlin Ludwig, Bridesmaid, Kate Szymaszuk, Katie Gibas Gibbons, and Eileen Hillery. Cousin Linda Gasiewicz Szklarz ‘69 also attended. I presently work for M & T Bank as a Debt Card Product Manager. Steve also works for M&T Bank where we met.” Ann Grano Downs ’07 married Zachary Downs at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo, New York on September 20, 2019. She was honored to have her sisters, Michelle Grano '05, Andrea Grano Thaxton '03, and Lisa Grano Perry '02 as her maid and matrons of honor, as well as Katherine Songin Measer '07 as a bridesmaid. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and currently live in Houston, Texas where Annie is a Claims Supervisor at GEICO and Zachary is an Emergency Medicine physician. Melissa Winter ’08, E’04, Montessori married Ryan Marfurt on September 7, 2019. The ceremony was held at Christ the King Chapel.
