Nardin Today Winter 2020-2021
8 Nardin Today Winter 2020-21 Because 2020 introduced so many unpredictable scenarios, Nardin Academy made a commitment in August to being prepared for the unknown. Teachers worked diligently since the summer to prepare their Schoology pages and folders to ensure a seamless transition, with ease of access to information and materials, in the event that remote instruction was mandated. So, it was fitting that teachers and students in Nardin’s Lower School dedicated quality time to prepare for a brief phase of distance learning just before Thanksgiving break. Kindergarteners through fourth graders held mock Zoom sessions during which they practiced their “Zoom manners,” focusing on acting appropriately in a home environment and respecting their virtual peers and teachers. By practicing throughout the fall, students were able to independently log in, access their Zoom sessions, apps, and materials from their own Nardin Chromebooks, during a short stretch of one week of distance learning. n >> In each issue, Nardin news from in and out of the classroom is showcased. class acts Zoom Zoom Lower school students practice remote learning
